On Tuesday 26th June Ideal Heating will be heading to our first Big Bang Fair at the Doncaster Racecourse to talk to students about the possibility of a career in engineering.
The Big Bang Fair Yorkshire and Humber is part of the major UK-wide programme led by Engineering UK. The Big Bang programme celebrates and raises the profile of young people’s achievements in STEM through the Big Bang Competition.
The Big Bang Near Me programme plays a vital role in inspiring the UK’s future scientists and engineers at a regional, local and school level. The UK needs many more scientists and engineers and equipping young people with skills in science, technology, engineering and maths is key to their future employability. The fairs are part of a UK-wide programme led by EngineeringUK to bring science and engineering to life for young people. More than 130,000 students and over 900 employers visited regional and local Fairs in their local area in the 2015/16 academic year.
When students visit the Ideal Boiler stand, they can expect to learn about the diverse career opportunities available in our industry from the people working in it. There will also be an opportunity for visitors to take part in a ‘boiler service’ competition in which students must strip down a boiler in the quickest time they can for the chance to win prizes.
