Over the last three months we have been busy touring the UK on our Easy ECO Roadshow, visiting various locations across the country including Leeds, Devon and Reading, just to name a few!
The aim of the tour was to meet up with our Installer Connect members to walk them through the new ECO scheme, as well as discussing how business can be generated through the initiative.
For our readers who may be unfamiliar with ECO, the scheme was introduced in January 2013, in an attempt to reduce the UK’s energy consumption and support people living in fuel poverty by funding energy efficiency improvements. Under the scheme, thousands of eligible households can now apply for a new, A rated boiler installed in their home completely free of charge! With this great initiative now in full swing, partnered with our commitment to supporting energy efficiency improvements, we knew it was time to hit the road and talk to our Installers face-to-face about the ins and outs of ECO.
So far we have held nine workshops, each kicking off with an introduction to ECO and Green Deal funding, an overview of what Installers can do under the scheme and how an ECO partnership with Ideal can help generate additional business. We also ensured our Installers were up to speed on the T&Cs and certifications required to work under the scheme, before rounding the workshop off with a Q&A session held by one of Ideal’s industry experts!
An Installer who attended one of our ECO workshops, Steve Eyles from Gasmech UK said, “The ECO workshop in Manchester was very informative, giving me a great understanding of the scheme and how achievable it actually is to become an ECO/Green deal installer. The expertise of the trainer who presented to us was brilliant!”
Reflecting on the training workshops, our National Training Manager, Ian Judd said, “After the launch of the Green Deal and ECO schemes it became apparent that Installers were confused about the differences between the two initiatives and the opportunities they offer.
“Our events have cut through the confusion by offering a clear explanation of the two schemes and the potential market, as well as helping our Installers to see how the schemes can be integrated into their own businesses. To have access to the funding these schemes offer means new business opportunities can be unlocked for Installers and their current clients can be safeguarded. It was great to get in front of our Installers and talk to them face-to-face about how the schemes can benefit them!”
With only a few more dates remaining in the roadshow’s calendar, we’d like to say a huge thank you to all of our Installers who attended the workshops. Should you have any questions or queries about ECO, you can tweet them to our Twitter feed @Ideal_Heating or call 01482 498 432.
The Easy ECO Roadshow will also be making its way up to Scotland next month, visiting key locations on the 13th, 14th and 15th August. If you’d like to reserve a place, or need any more information, please call 01482 498 432.
