The CIM Marketing Excellence Awards identify and celebrate outstanding marketing activity by organisations, individuals and teams – and we’re finalists!
We’re delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for the ‘Best use of social media’ award! This award recognises the inventive use of social media to engage in tangible interactions with an audience and our nomination stems from the resurgence of the viral sensation that is Boiler Man and the social media frenzy that followed his appearance at West Brom’s opening game of the season in August.
Over the last year we’ve had a lot to shout about over on social media including the introduction of Touch RF and Touch Connect, the new MAX range with the best warranties on the market and of course, Ideal Boilers sponsoring West Bromwich Albion. However, the biggest news of them all must be the introduction of Boiler Man. As a result, we have seen a dramatic spike in interaction and engagement on all social media platforms.
Boiler Man has appeared on television programmes such as BBC Breakfast, The Last Leg, The Big Fat Quiz of the Year and Sky Sports News, featured in the Telegraph and The Daily Mail and on podcasts and radio shows such as TalkSport, The Peter Crouch Podcast and The Frank Skinner Radio show. And, due to popular demand, Boiler Man now has his own website, social media (including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram), merchandise and a number of viral videos under his belt (if he had one).
It is clear to see why Boiler Man is so deserving of the ‘Best use of social media’ award but winning would also reflect our marketing team’s hard work, dedication and creativity when bringing Boiler Man to life and would only further the excitement for what’s next to come for Boiler Man. We’re so grateful to be shortlisted, alongside other very worthy finalists, but we would really like to see Boiler Man on stage collecting that award, wouldn’t you?
