Introducing the Logic Combi ESP1
The Logic Combi ESP1 is a combi boiler, which means it provides both the instant hot water in your home and powers your central heating. This model is highly efficient and has been endorsed by the Energy Saving Trust — great news for your carbon footprint, as well as your energy bills.
Operation Modes
Depending on the time of year, you'll need your boiler to provide a different service. Central heating won’t be as much of an issue over the summer months, but will be essential during the cooler days and nights of winter.
Summer Conditions
This mode tells your boiler you only need it to supply domestic hot water. Turn the ‘Mode’ knob (on the far right) so that it’s pointing to the icon showing a tap (summer) and make sure the central heating demand for the external controls is switched to OFF.
Winter Conditions
This setting lets your boiler know you need it to provide both domestic hot water and central heating — simply turn the Mode knob to the icon displaying a tap and radiator (winter). In this mode, it will prioritise making sure taps and showers have hot water, as well as providing heat to keep radiators warm.
Boiler Off
If you want to switch your boiler off for a period of time, just set the mode knob to ‘BOILER OFF’. It’s very important to remember that the boiler mains power supply needs to remain on for frost protection to continue working.
High Efficiency Central Heating
Your Ideal Logic Combi ESP1 is an intelligent condensing boiler and is able to automatically adjust its output depending on how much demand is placed on it by your household.
For maximum efficiency, make sure the knob with a radiator icon beneath it (Central Heating Temperature) is switched to the ‘e‘ position or lower. During the winter months, and depending on your home and radiators, you may need to switch the knob towards ‘MAX’ to supply all the heat you need.
Restarting Your Logic Combi ESP1 Boiler
If you need to restart your boiler to resolve a fault code, simply press the RESTART button which will prompt your boiler to repeat its ignition sequence. If this fails to start the boiler, get in touch with a Gas Safe Registered Engineer.
Monitoring Your System’s Water Pressure
The system pressure gauge on your boiler lets you know the central heating system pressure. If you notice the pressure falling below the original installation pressure of 1-2 bar over a period of time and if it continues to fall, this could mean there’s a water leak.

Keeping Your Boiler Looking Clean
Modern boilers are much more tidy and compact than older models, but it’s still worth keeping them looking smart. To prevent your Logic Combi ESP1 starting to look past its best, we recommend simply dusting with a dry cloth. If you have a tough time getting rid of a mark or stain, try wiping it with a non-abrasive damp material then patting it down with a dry cloth.
